Good jacket but less...
Good jacket but less breathable than I expected for a Gore-Tex product.
Great new, loses waterproofing in 12 - 18 months
This is a good roomy comfortable waterproof jacket and is great from new, water repellent, shakes off the droplets of rain, is warm and dry.
But after 12 - 18 months regular wear, water repellency quickly starts to wane and washing in Tech Wash does nothing to revive it. Nor does ironing. Still wind proof. Black's £125 is good value for a year's waterproof wear, but definitely not worth the full £225 price, for which you'd expect a robust long lasting jacket.

The jacket is a good fit over a fleece and it's keeping my warm and dry when I'm out walking the dogs on local hills and coastal paths where I live in the North of Scotland.

I've worn it only once for a couple of hours walk in windy and drizzly conditions, so my comments are based on a limited experience. The jacket feels light and comfy. It offers excellent wind protection, without the stuffy feeling you sometimes get walking uphill in waterproof garments. The hood is a good size and protects your face from the rain. I'm very satisfied with it and can't wait to test it under a proper deluge...
