Key featuresexpand_more

The flagship pack in the Freeflow daypack family, the 30+5L combines innovative, performance-orientated features with Berghaus’ “built to last” philosophy.

Inheriting the refined styling of Berghaus’ Extrem® mountaineering pack range, the 3D Freeflow 30+5L looks as good as it performs. The patent pending back frame holds the pack just 5cm from the wearer’s back, allowing increased airflow without sacrificing stability. Its 3D printed lumbar cushions’ lattice-like structure is soft like foam but much more permeable for better airflow. The shoulder straps can be repositioned quickly to ensure the pack sits comfortably on the shoulders and hips.

The Freeflow is clearly designed with fast paced hikes in mind. Pockets and attachments, located on the shoulder straps and waist belt, allow soft flasks, walking poles and other close-to-hand essentials to be grabbed quickly. The pack’s main compartment has an inverted J-shape zip which allows items to be retrieved from the top or the bottom of the pack without having to empty the contents. Unzipping its 5L extension adds room for overnight gear or extra layers. The pack is hydration bladder compatible and has an integrated rain cover.

Adhering to Berghaus’ sustainable design philosophy, it is designed to be long lasting and easy to repair. Like all Berghaus products, this pack is backed by the company’s “Fixed for Life” repair promise, which means your treasured pack can be fixed at no expense to you.

Lives up to the hype and price tag
5 out of 5

I was slightly sceptical if this was worth twice the price of some of the other top performing packs. "3D Freeflow technology... " marketing blurb but it does actually translate to a very clever design. It's a semi rigid frame that provides plenty of support and ventilation but soft enough and flexible enough feel compact and full control over it.
The ability to change the support sizes L/M/S allows a tailored fit and the support to be in all the right places. J Zip means not having to empty the pack to get to the bottom of the pack. Plenty of adjustments to shrink this to a 15L daypack
