Berghaus Women’s Maitland GORE-TEX® Jacket

Haven't tested yet but it looks good and fits well

An excellent waterproof jacket, rain just flows off it, although it’s not yet been tested in many hours of rain, very comfortable, I especially like the soft lining around the neck area where the zip can often rub your chin. An extra fleece lining can be added in winter for extra warmth

This jacket is the best I've ever purchased. However, if you are expecting to purchase the Berghaus interactive fleece that zips up to the inside of the jacket, think again. I've been searching for this for one year. Also tried their retail shop stockists. The feedback is that they never have the women's fleeces, but do stock the men's. They don't understand why because they are often asked for this item. Therefore, I have dropped Berghaus one star for false advertising.

I settled on this jacket after much deliberation!
Great features are, zipped pockets, one inside for keys and phone, hood has poppers and toggles to tighten around face in high winds, it is windproof (tested at 50+ mph)! length is below hip with adjustable toggle, colour aubergine is gorgeous, velcro around wrists, hood stores away, and it’s very comfy to wear. I am 5ft 9in size 10-12 and sent the 12 back for a size 14, which fits lovely with a base layer and fleece underneath. I’m looking forward to many years of wear, well worth paying that little bit extra and would highly recommend :-)

So far so good - bought to replace a very very old rain jacket. Nice fit and slightly longer at the back to cover your bum. Not worn an awful lot yet in as bought ahead for spring/summer wearing.

Good fit and comfortable. Good felxibility in tightening the hood.
I'm using it as a general purpose jacket and think it ticks all the boxes for that.
As a hill-walking jacket I'd have 2 disappointments: no 2-way zip so you can't unzip from the bottom to get more leg room when going up-hill, and the internal breast-pocket zip is inside the jacket (rather than under the storm flap as it used to be) so you have to unzip the jacket to get at it (not good in the rain).

I’m very pleased with my purchase. I’m normally size 10 but ordered size 12 so I can wear a light fleece underneath. It’s a good fit and has some shape. I love the burgundy colour. It promises to be waterproof which I need especially when out walking in the UK. Excellent value with money off offers.

Quality Berghaus Jacket, have tested on an ascent of Scafell Pike. Favourite feature is the storm flap covering the zip (harder to find these days!) Hood good size, like the adjustable cuff straps, comfortable collar, great colour!

Always purchase Berghaus. Foolproof against wind and rain and warm even without a fleece.
Perfect for all weathers. Without the fleece it can be worn on a warm day without looking like a winter coat. Washes with no problem in the machine. Yes it is a little pricey but they last for years.

This waterproof is very similar to my previous Berghaus jacket, which has had 5 years excellent use. I'm sure this one will be just as good, but for some reason the sizing has changed. My previous jacket was a size 14 and this one is exactly the same dimensions (apart from the longer sleeves), but is a size 16! So be warned: you will need to size up, particularly if you want to wear a fleece underneath. And thanks for the previous reviewers who pointed this out too.

V long sleeves and zip not as expected otherwise v good, bought to replace one which has lasted years.
