On my third pair , lovely comfortable, waterproof boots
Very comfortable fit with wide toe box. Excellent value for money. Has the feel and quality of much more expensive brands.....of which I have tried many !
Would highly recommend on first impression and first 30 miles of mixed terrain. Longevity yet to be tested.
I recently bought Peter Storm walking trainers and was impressed enough to buy these boots for the wetter, muddier months.
Perfect fit for me. High on the ankle so good support. Early days but quality appears to be very good and they look good too. Great value compared to other boots I've bought. I will definitely look at Peter Storm footwear in the future.
These boots were a recommendation by Claire of the WildBeare YouTube channel. Most comfortable walking boots I've owned. Now to put them through their paces! Thanks Claire.
Had these boots for a year walking in all conditions and they were fine until I wore them to trek to the Lost City in Colombia. It rained for day and half and was really muddy and unfortunately these boots didn’t last, the lining inside the left boot came down and I had to throw them away as got completely trashed. Fine for dog walking but definitely not fine to wear for trekking anywhere.
Really pleased with these at first. Very comfortable and completely waterproof with regular proofing. However leather soon started losing its colour leaving them looking very shoddy. Then the stitching came apart on the left side of the right boot. Managed to sort that using Gorilla glue. Now one of the eyelets has detached. A bit disappointing given they have had light and infrequent usage.
Brilliant budget boots – I know, I walk 2000+ miles a year, and I usually have three pairs of boots in rotation at any time. I mostly buy boots that are double the price, and I was VERY pleasantly surprised by these. Buy these boots if you need a comfortable waterproof boot for day-to-day dog walking or weekend hikes. Upgrade the insoles and apply lots of dubbin. They will be comfortable, waterproof, and relatively long-lived. I am a wide size 11 and the fit is excellent.
I bought these for summer walks in the Peak District. I found them rather large for the stated size so took to wearing 2 pairs of socks with them. After half a dozen walks they became porous when walking through wet grass. The leather absorbed a lot of water so took a long time to dry. The sole, which has very little depth of grip, rapidly wore down. Finally, after about 2 years the uppers started to detach around the welt so water floods in whenever I step into a puddle.
I could not recommend these to anyone.
I usually buy Brasher boots and have always been impressed by their lightweight and comfort. In my experience the leather cracks after about six months and they can leak in very wet conditions after about a year/1000 miles they start to give up the ghost and so for a change I thought I'd try a 'budget' pair of boots. The Peter Storm Caldbecks are about half the price of the equivalent Brasher boots and my impression (after walking approx 30 miles in them) is that they're excellent. It's early days yet but they seem robust, waterproof and they're commendably light in weight. My gut feeling is that they are going to last well and I might now be a convert to 'budget' boots, something I never thought would happen. My feet are quite broad and so the slighter wider fit is also a real bonus.
Excellent walking boot - totally waterproof - well worth the money even better with discount!!
Bought as a present. Very pleased.
Excellent value. Bought in a sale so even better
Very comfortable and good looking pair of boots
Just the job !
Ordered placed 22nd November, to date Boots still not recieved despite Hermes sending numerous emails claiming they are on their way. I have queried this with Blacks who have been very helpful. This issue still unresolved ☹☹
Well made for use in wet weather but not the most comfortable. For the price though I cannot complain.
Early days but the main reason i purchased these boots was for the waterproof property. Which they appear to be.
Got in the sale extra discount for DofE
Son used them in heavy rain for walks and since again on coastal walks in rain. Kept feet very dry and very comfy. No rubbing.
Will need proper care due to nature of leather. Well worth the money
Only had them for a short while, so early days...but quality looking and sturdily built. Deep, tough looking soles so hopeful.
Very comfortable boots
Had the exact same Boots before after four years of walking and working in these almost every day. I wore the sole tread totally away.
Very impressed with the quality so took advantage of the Black Friday deal and bought my second pair. Excellent quality and long lasting. What’s not to like.
