HI-GEAR Stainless Steel Double Sided BBQ

Handy for a camping trip. Good quality for the price. However I echo other people’s comments - it is dangerous putting together as you are likely to cut a slice through your thumb turning a nut next to a sharp edge. And I have pieces of blue plastic coating that I cannot extract, that will have to melt on first use. Product really shouldn’t have passed QA.

Not actually used it yet but it looks like it should do the job nicely. I've used a lot of BBQs in the past and this one looks to have all the right bits in all the right places. Smart looking but I doubt it will keep that appearance once used...one downside ...it's covered in a blue plastic film which should have been removed when manufacturing was taking place as now it's trapped between the folds in the steel and underneath hinges which have been riveted into.place ! This will obviously burn off when lit but not very nice for something you're going to cook food on or great for the planet.

Arrived well packed but with a couple of dents from manufacturing or packing. Like others have mentioned the protective film has been trapped behind fittings and joints so will have to burn or melt off. A stupid schoolboy error by the manufacturer. Lots of very sharp edges where the stainless steel has been cut but if you look past these problems it is a compact table top stainless steel barbecue suitable for camping, picnics or home use. I would advise buying a heat mat to go under it to avoid fire risk.

Excellent product, great value & service

Fantastic bbq for a camping trip! It has plenty of grill space for cooking and then you can chuck a log on for a raised campfire afterwards. We preferred just to use one side so that we could close it up securely before we went to bed without worrying about ash flying around. Good and compact to transport too and handle works well. Only slight downside is that the metal is quite sharp in places on the interior so caution needed when assembling. Generally a great product for the price.

We had the same one for years. Very please to have another. Very easy and perfect for bbq by the lake.

Astonishingly badly put together, huge panel gaps everywhere. Arrived with massive dents all over it (admittedly not the manufacturer’s fault, but shows how flimsy it is). Stainless steel is covered in blue plastic that needs peeling off, but you can’t remove it all because it’s been applied before it was put together so it won’t come out from behind rivets and hinges so will inevitably melt on first use. Grills supplied are not as pictured - charcoal bed is a solid plate with some tiny air holes that also doesn’t fit the base of the bbq drum properly. Will be sending this back immediately.
