Great for painful feet.
I love these shoes!
Super comfortable shoe, water proofing is top notch - and it's reasonably resilient.
I've worn them almost everyday for the past 4 years as a general purpose shoe - cycling to work 10 miles per day, working in the garden and loads of rambling in every uk habitat. I’ve given them a real battering and they’re still super comfortable. Sure, like other reviewers, the stitching went on the toe end in the last year and there's now a hole in the sole of one shoe. But nothing lasts forever especially given the amount of use they’ve had. In terms of value for money, for me they are my best ever shoes.
Inside Cushion sole wore away before the sole.
A very comfortable shoe but the insole didn't last a hundred miles. 10 miles a day for 10 days and they've got holes in the insole. Having to buy another insole. Such a shame they don't last long as they're very expensive but comfortable.
Not A Quality Shoe
ifThese shoes are very comfortable but along with many others who have reviewed these mine have also fallen apart at the seams leaving holes around the toe area and side. The stitching is hopeless and the manufacturer is not interested. Be very aware these are a top priced shoe but not in anyway shape or form a quality product. Never again would I buy or recommend a Meindl product.
Weak stitching around toe flex point
Supremely comfortable shoe, but stitching falls apart around toe flex point well before the shoe reaches “end of life” . Bought a second pair, thinking it was a one off, but sadly not the case. I would not recommend buying a pair due to that issue.
Killed my feet
Bought these to walk the Camino. Wore them from new in the Lake District for a week or so before setting off.
Despite changing socks, using liner socks etc, after a week or so I hade blisters all over my feet. The shoes seemed to be a size bigger after a couple of weeks walking, extra socks were worn but my feet continued to move about especially around the heal. These are definitely a large fit.

My husband loves these...
My husband loves these meindel shoes. He finds the width perfect and they are well made and comfortable. A good winter shoe.

My third pair in...
My third pair in 15 years. Really comfortable for mixed walking. I am hoping that the stitching on the toe of the shoe lasts a bit longer this time.

Now on my 5th pair, I have circulation problems in my feet but can wear them all day long. The shoes are intended for walking on the flat as per the instructions. I wear mine for nearly every occasion. Yes the stitching did fail on the first pair but only after a lot of abuse, gardening, paddling in the sea the gortex certainly works . I find they take little breaking in. If I have any complaints it is that they are rather bulky when driving and soon start to look rather scruffy that's why I have so many pairs.
