ysadly there has been problems with my recent boots but my original pair lasted 2.5 years!!! i then asked why?? during covid the manufacturing was transferred to a different country where they used poor quality materials but alot of boots were sent out damaging the brand of Keen!! my Targee lll come with a years warranty the first signs of damage is seen at about 8 weeks Blacks got me a new pair! and had another since service outstanding
I walk 10 km a day over tracks and through fields and I’m onto my third pair in 7 months, so I get about 3 months wear from these Targhee 3s until the rubberised “fabric” around the toe box splits. I’d be furious if I paid near to full price, but I paid around £70 per pair. Contacted Black’s about guarantee but I’d need to arrange return which is a faff for me.
Fit is excellent for my wide feet, without adding too much space above like a Meindle comfort fit would. Would love to be able to pay a bit more to guarantee quality. Not worth full price!!!
These boots are all you could wish for - to begin with. They are comfortable and waterproof. But as others have said, they soon start to deteriorate. I do about two miles per day, walking the dog along a fairly good farm track and across a muddy area around a pond. I've had two pairs of these boots and neither of them were waterproof after a few months. Now, a year into my second pair, I cannot wear them in wet conditions and I look like a tramp because they have started to disintegrate. Very poor value for money.
This is the first pair of Keen hiking boots I’ve owned. Initially very comfortable, but after a couple of months of walking with the dog, the external waterproof lining near the toe has cracked. This tear has completely compromised the waterproof capabilities of the boots, making them useless in wet conditions. I wouldn’t recommend these boots. I’ve written a complaint to Blacks and await a response.
I have had three pairs of these boots hoping that the problems i had with them were one offs. Unfortunately no, the waterproof material on the outside near the toe area dries out, cracks then flakes off making them leak. Another walker friend had the same problem . They are comfortable and cool looking but once the material fails they become a real disappointment. Sorry to leave negative feedback but have persisted with them with three pairs. A real shame.
Comfortable and waterproof. Really poor durability- the material nearest the sole started to deteriorate within months, then the adhesive between the sole and upper gave out not long after.
Very good boots this is my second pair comfortable and dry good for walking long distance over any terrain as I do a lot of walking with my dogs
Poor service from Blacks. Box had been previously opened and carelessly repacked. Spare laces missing. Customer services unhelpful
Good fit , v comfortable
Blacks never delivered so cannot commet
This is my second pair of these boots first pair were Targee 2 which I walked the WHW in . This boot is a great fit for anyone with a broad foot no need to break them in.
Wide fit but comfortable, good value and time will tell how durable they are.
So far I am pleased with the boots. They are a good, comfortable fit and appear to be well made. Too early to comment on the quality of waterproofing or longevity hence only 4 stars.
Purchased this week i needed a wider boot ,I've gone a size up usually a 10 . Very comfortable and a good price. Hopefully get a couple of hundred miles out of them
Boots are fine, size 7 is size seven, quite wide, lighter than my Merrell Moabs. Time will tell on comfort, still breaking in. Not as much padding i the sole.
These boots are comfortable and waterproof which is what I require as I am keen open water swimmer often I have to walk via wet moorlands . I’ve not used them over 5 miles to date so can’t comment re serious walking . I wound prefer them to be s little lighter .
Tongue is a little too narrow, otherwise a comfortable boot.
Good product. *****************************
I do like in footwear because I have a wider foot and they always cater for that. A few reviews had said that these boots weren't waterproof but I took the plunge and here is my review, concurring with the ones that I had read before. Half an hour walking in long grass and the boots were absolutely soaked through, and my feet drenched. Very comfy , and fit very well and are light enough whilst being rugged enough but I expect a waterproof boot to be waterproof.
