2nd chance!!!!
Robust waterproof Walking trainer
These trainers are robust and waterproof.
I gave them 4 stars because they are a SNUG 9 and require quite a bit of wearing in. They are however very supportive and clean very easy.
Ive done about 60 miles in them so far and swap between another pair of trainers.
The laces are just the right length and if double knotted do not work loose.

Ideal walking shoes for Summer/Autumn
These shoes fit well and are comfortable. They are well made, robust and waterproof. They double as trainers for me when its wet underfoot.
Check your size
I bought two pairs of these in the sale because they are the latest version of the shoes I've been wearing for years.
They are made to the same standard and quality as all the ones I've worn out but they seem to be slightly smaller. I think they will be fine once I have broken them in but until then I've got blisters. I didn't have that with any other Merrells so when these wear out I'll be going shopping for something different.

A trainer rather than a hiking shie
Good fit true to size. The sole is slippery on rocks and does not compare to high quality soles like Vibram. Not suitable for hiking, I am wearing it more like a trainer for easy walks on tarmac or grass.

Perfect
It took me a while to find the right walking shoe and I finally found it. Merrells usually tend to be less than stylish but the red West Rim is exactly what I wanted. Didn’t even take much to break them in. The heel is slightly elevated which is also great.
Thought I would give these shoes a try as my previous pair of Merrill shoes are unwearable as they gave me heel blisters, disappointed to say, the same thing has happened with these and I can no longer wear them
