Useless for Explorer maps

Whatever it may say, this is only useful for 1:50,000 scale Landranger maps, and essentially useless for Explorer1:25,000 maps.

If you want to be able to measure your walks on Explorer maps, this is just plastic tat.

Does not work on 1:25 000 scale

Purchased one of these today and cannot see how it works on a 2.5 inches to 1 mile map. It will be going back tomorrow!

Q&A (1)

How do i work it?

4th Apr 2019, submitted by Lesley Parkington

Hi Lesley. This is a great little device that helps give an idea of distance in either miles or kilometres. Simply roll the small wheel along the desired walk or route and then let it clock up how may revolutions of the wheels, This will then work along side the scale of either 1:25K or 1:50K. Perfect to keep with your maps to get a bit more information about your trip outdoors. I hope this helps.
