Berghaus Men's Expanse GORE-TEX® Shoes

I bought motorcycle boots recently at a shop, so I knew my feet were now larger (size 10). This meant I could order online (the size guide is useful) with confidence, without having to return the shoes. Although I haven't had them long, they look and feel good quality and at a bargain price. I am a return customer of Blacks.

Good fit straight from the box, no need for “breaking in” , comfortable shoes, didn’t test waterproofing yet.

Already thru 3 pairs over the last 5 years.
The shoe is very light and comfortable. I wear them nearly everyday. Unfortunately the sole is wearing of fast and since the first pair the inner heel lining is coming of after a couple of month.
In summary: the finished build quality needs to be improved and the sole materials needs to be toughened.

Bought these shoes following advice from Blacks and having tried them on, they were very comfortable.
400km later, just under 2 months old, the middle part of the thread on the sole was gone. This was after 400km or so walking the Camino de Santiago (normal path /road, no abuse).
Had to throw them away and but a new pair. Blisters from these ruined my camino. Extremely expensive for what they are.

Really bad quality. lost any waterproof qualities within weeks from purchase. Got holes in them after 6 months of daily use.

Great shoe but i only covered 80 mile in these before the fronts split on the inside below the laces.

Spoke to blacks but as these were outside the 12 month warranty they were no help.

I had a similar pair before this that lasted 6 years so i don't know what's happened with the build quality.

Like some others have noted, these are great shows for a few months then the weaknesses show up. After six months of daily 6K use they have split at the front sides (near the bottom of the laces) letting water and dirt in. Never had this happen to me before on any shoe at any price. Come on Berghaus, must change the design.

If your looking for a pair of low ankle walking trainers that are lighter then bulkier high ankle ones then these are a good choice, had these for about 2 years now countless hiking trips in them and not one problem still going strong very light and comfy to walk in all day

Purchased Nov 2021. Great look and comfort but that's about all. Soles have worn considerably and only used for a couple of miles just to walk the dog most days. Outer mesh has worn at corner where foot bends on the toe and hole has appeared and lets water in.
Not as good as my old TNF hedgehogs and I'm keen to find a decent waterproof replacement for these.

I've had two pairs of these and each time they have barely made it a year. The stuffing rapidly wears down at the heel and splits appear at the seams towards the front of the shoe. They look nice but are a far cry from the durability you expect at this price point, and for intensive outdoor use.

Purchased October 4, 2020, having to replace after 19 months light use, soles worn down to minimum at the front, holes appearing in side fabric. Very disappointing and not acceptable for a quality brand? I've had more that 10 years out of North Face boots. For the price I paid for these (they've reduced now) very poor value. I do not recommend.

Smart looking; good arch support, quality vibram sole and breathable upper. Recipient very happy- comfortable is there comment.

I really like them

Very comfortable straight from the box. No problems with letting water in. Used for fell, moorland walking, good grip on various surfaces. I have found the Gortex to be better to clean than the older Aquadry material.

Great quality. Slightly narrower than expected when first put on . But now worn a few times feel very comfortable.

We purchased these walking shoes for our son's Christmas..they look amazing!

Nice price for full GT. I prefer my colours to be a bit more brighter, but hey ho!
Comfortable when walking, but I would say they are not a broad shoe like some other brands on the market.

2nd pair still got 2yrold ones with holes and soles start to come off still comfy and co.pleyly waterproof.hope my new ones are as
