This Is My Way Launch

Seven Incredible Women.
Seven Inspirational Stories.

We are proud to launch This Is My Way, celebrating every woman and what makes her great.

Over the coming weeks we’ll introduce you to seven inspiring women, each with a story to tell. What drives her? What is her goal? What were the hurdles along the way?

We are serious about promoting women outdoors. The coming weeks and months will see a greater exposure for women's activities and the equipment built to help you reconfigure your limits. We'll showcase next-gen bespoke clothing and gear as well as offering exclusive in-store events for women.

Meet the Women

Olivia Wood: Adventurer
Olivia is an all-mountain adventurer. Hiking and biking whenever she can, she hopes to inspire her daughter to follow in her footsteps.

Jen Wood: Climber
Team GB climber, Jen, scales the wall with ease on her journey to reach Tokyo 2020.

Esmée Gummer: Personal Trainer and Motivational Speaker
The doctors said that she would never walk again. Esmée didn't listen. She is now a renowned personal trainer and motivational speaker.

Starting out at the age of six, Abi has rarely applied the brakes since. Her success has taken her to podiums in tournaments around the world.

Laura Murray: Runner
What began as a hobby became a way of life. Laura now smashes marathons and leads running groups to help others reach their best.

Sonia Whitehead: Scout Leader
Active in both Scouting and Girlguiding since the age of 6, Sonia continues to lead and passes on her skills to the next generation.

Katie Myint: Triathlete
For Katie competing is fighting back. International triathlons helped Katie overcome depression. Now she balances competition with a busy career as a doctor.

These are seven extraordinary women, but there are millions more. We want to champion every woman in the outdoors, including you. Whatever your pursuit; whether you are a novice or next-level; the trail is yours to blaze, your way.

Sophie has recently joined the team after working as a sales assistant in the Blacks Meadowhall store. She is an occasional walker and hoping to experience more of the outdoors after moving closer to the Peak District from her small village in Yorkshire.

She is more accustomed to camping and travelling with her local Senior Section unit, camping in places like Alton Towers and Marwell Zoo, and travelling to North America and Switzerland.

Sophie is a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, space fanatic and likes going to the pub at the weekend like any normal person should.
