Why is the Microlight Iconic?
The original Microlight was created over 10 years ago. An instant success thanks to its versatility and performance, it has been continually reassessed and reinvented with new materials and technical tweaks.
2021 saw the biggest advancement in the Microlight’s construction, as Rab replaced the outer material and insulation with more sustainable alternatives. It introduced fully recycled down, the first of its kind to be certified by the global recycled standard, and swapped out the outer material for fully recycled Pertex® Quantum fabric. The result on performance? None! The jacket maintained its excellent levels of warmth, durability, packability and comfort.
This Limited Edition collection is the latest milestone in the history of the iconic jacket, with six exclusive colourways set to be unleashed on the trails and summits of the UK.

Made with a 30D recycled Pertex® Quantum ripstop outer and 100% recycled, 700 fill power hydrophobic down, the Microlight Alpine Jacket now treads a little lighter on the planet.
Stylish and practical, both as an everyday jacket and as a mountain layer, it has three harness-compatible pockets, so it’s easy to access your essentials on a climb. The easy-carry stuff sack packs the jacket down to fit into any low volume daypack. A down-filled hood, with a stiffened peak, provides extra warmth and protection from the elements.
100% recycled, premium quality down, gives down that might otherwise have ended up in landfill a second life; reducing waste by making use of this valuable insulation.
In damp conditions, down absorbs moisture, resulting in reduced loft and an inability to trap warm air. Nikwax hydrophobic treatment coats the down with a water-resistant solution, so that your gear dries fast and stays warm.
