Primus is Latin for first, and that’s exactly what founders F.W Lindqvist and J.V Svenson were when it came to the world’s first soot-free kerosene stove in 1892. They named it PRIMUS, which instantly became a household name for reliable stoves, with stoves from the company being used on trips to the North and South Poles during the early 1900s.
