By six years old, your kid is becoming extremely confident on a bike. It’s time to start thinking about taking your little riding prodigy on their first trails, but first, they’ll need a bike that’s up to the job.
The Xtrada 20 is a scaled down version of Polygon’s popular cross-country hardtail. The bike is built with premium components. It has chunky, 2.25-inch-wide tyres on sturdy double wall alloy wheels to provide ample grip. Rim brakes aren’t designed for proper, full-throttle mountain biking - the Xtrada 20 has hydraulic disc brakes that give your child complete control of their speed. Wide handlebars and an adjustable air-sprung suspension fork, which can be tuned to your child’s weight, are hallmarks of a bike that’s made for off-road fun.
Blasting down the trails is what it’s all about, but first they’ll need to pedal up. The Xtrada 20 is equipped with microSHIFT’s Advent drivetrain which is specifically designed for little wheeled bikes. Uncomplicated, with a range of 9 speeds on a single shifter, it will help your child to comfortably pedal up inclines and bomb along flats. The geometry, crank length, lever/shifter reach are all designed specifically for mini mountain bikers.
Finally, a well-priced trail bike for kids that rips.
