The suede and mesh upper is durable, lightweight and breathable for staying fresh even when tackling adverse conditions and steep terrain.

Robust shoe. For me the narrow heel part of the sole of the shoe and rounded edge of this part meant the shoe (and my ankles) was likely to cockle over on uneven ground. The pics on the website couldn't make this clear to me, so I ordered them but did not buy.North Face do a much more stable shoe. I also have another pair of Merrells that are wide at the heel and really good, but worn out.
