Superb little tent

Great little tent. It pitches all in one (crawl underneath to re-clip a few bits). It does not leak even in a gale. Low to the ground means it doesn't blow about, but tall enough at the point of access in the middle of the clamshell that you can your boots off inside the porch. Guy ropes are probably completely superfluous, but make good washing lines. Something about the fly and the inner makes heat stays inside. Probably had it 2 and a half years. Absolutely no issues. Great pegs - v-shaped profile rustproof steel. Comes with a repair kit - used that on another tent!

Review after over a years use

Excellent tent. Used this in heavy rain wind and snow. Watch my video reviews on youtube .

Very lightweight. Easy to put up. High quality fabric and manufacture

Very good quality and great value for money.

Pros.

Single pole design therefore very quick and easy to erect (goes up fly first or “all as one”( i.e. inner and fly together).
Very roomy (for a one person tent), in an emergency would accommodate two medium sized adults. Perfect for one adult and two medium sized dogs, with rucksack in porch.
The pole running along the tent seems a far better design than the traditional loop tent where the pole goes across.
The sil nylon rain fly is simply “top notch”.
2mm guy ropes are excellent combination of small size, low weight and good strength.
Excellent value for money given the quality of materials and relatively low weight.

Cons.

Side door would have been better with 2 way zip to allow top of door to be open (at top) for ventilation.
Guy rope tensioners (sliders) are really tiny and I suspect pretty hopeless. I did not even attempt to use them and replaced them with Clamcleat mini line-loks.
Pegs are pretty decent and much better than the usual ones supplied, however I still replaced the 4 for the guy ropes with much larger titanium vee shaped pegs to be safe.
Not aware of a footprint being available. But since I hate buying a footprint for every tent I will be using a Rab nylon ground cloth (2 person) and using bungee cord to secure this to appropriate pegging points.

In use.

Used just the once in the garden to practice pitching and check on stability before venturing out into the fells . On a warm night in late August I was surprised just how effective the ventilation was. I enjoyed a fine nights sleep as the tent was very stable, but it was in a sheltered location with little wind.

Only very basic numeracy I must agree

Well I see absolutely nothing wrong with the measurements. I note they do not state the door width, only the overall external measurement for the flysheet and the internal measurements for the inner.

Check out the measurements on the diagram

The dimensions of this tent shown in the diagram are wholly wrong. Take a minute to check them carefully and you can see they make no sense whatever. The width at the door cannot be 225cm.

Questions from an 'old camper.'

1. Do the outer fly and the inner tent pitch together as one?
2. Does the fly zip go up or down to open?
3. Does the front 'door' have on side zip only?
4. Would you be prepared to listen to me?
