Good tent with plenty of space at a reasonable price

I've had this tent for 4 years now and it has survived 4 Bloodstocks admirably. It's just the right size, loads of room inside to stretch out (I'm 6'4'') plus a big porch for all you gear. And most importantly, completely waterproof. Survived several huge downpours and several lengthy periods of constant rain. Inside stayed bone dry and even quite cozy. Also it's dead easy to put up. Very highly recommend.

Great quality little tent, thats not so little. Nice porch size compared to other small dome tents. Well made, waterprroof, easy to pitch and stood up to a wknd of 46mph winds. Just what i was looking for, for quick getaways.

I have used these tents in the past and they are very good.

I cannot recommend this tent enough. Survived 5 days at Download festival this year in heavy rain and winds and stayed perfectly dry and cosy inside. Huge porch for storing all your stuff which leaves plenty of room in the sleeping compartment. My husband is 6ft and could stretch out quite comfortably. The only thing we found was that you can't really use the side door in the rain as water runs down that way and would end up in the porch but the front door was fine. Overall a great tent for the money and worth every penny.

I’m in the IOM for the TT racing and it’s rained the whole time! Tent has remained dry throughout. It’s compact enough to bring on the back of my bike but roomy enough for double air bed and all motorbike gear. Definitely recommend.

An essential piece of tape attached to the inside of the tent broke away from its moorings as I tried put the tent in the garden. I will need to return the tent. Other than that it's a good tent.

Very good, easy to put up and very spacious for 3 man tent. Would have given it 5 if it had more tent pegs.

I have been involved in Scouting for many years and bought a Eurohike Stour ("the Stour") tent which is no longer a current model. This tent really has seen extensive use in all sorts of conditions around the world and I posted a favourable review of it on UKCampsite some years ago. It now has some minor damage and I decided to replace it with the Avon 3 dlx ("the Avon") based upon the positive experience I had with the old tent. The Avon is basically a re-incarnation of the old tent with some minor improvements, such as a better porch groundsheet and higher hydro static head rating. For a 3 berth tent, the whole package is lightweight and easy to transport. It utilises 3 poles: 2 for the dome and 1 for the porch, and is quick and simple to pitch using a ring and pin arrangement. Personally, I always disconnect the inner tent when packing it away as I Iike to ensure everything is properly dry, but you can leave it attached so that you can pitch 'as one'. The poles go into the flysheet and the outer is pitched first. The inner then hooks onto the inside. The tent is very comfortable for 2 people but can sleep 3 'snugly'. Value for money is very good and hopefully I'll get 15 years of use out of this one. The only niggle I have is that the Avon is plain green all over, whereas the Stour looked smarter with it's 2-tone grey green finish.

Bought one years ago and on 20th trip, friend ripped the zip clean off....loved it so much duct taped the tops and eyeletted myself in. As opening at side, when windy, the wind doesnt come through zips straight into sleeping area. The poles did bend the wrong way in one scottish thurnderr storm and gale, but still very secure.
We have slept 4 people in this tent. When 1st one gave up (ok - fed up off having to untie to get in and out, I purchased another....It has lasted 8 years of festivals and camping trips and only just started to collect condensation inside, so now no 3.

Bought this tent to sleep two adults. It was easy to pitch and withstood the heavy wind a rain that was chucked at it; the tent remained dry and held its shape. The large porch, which has a ground sheet, was a great addition. It held all our equipment; from wet clothes and boots to rucksacks, food and cooking equipment. The sleeping area was comfortable and could easily have taken a third adult. It was high enough to sit up without touching the top and we are both tall. Storage pockets are handy for spectacles. It was great value for money and I reckon will last a fair bit.
I bought this tent in 2014 (ish) and love it. Now I need to upgrade to a 5 man tent. Will a 5 man Avon version be available soon ?
Great to know you have enjoyed your Avon tent, when moving into the 5 berth style tents there is not and will not be an Avon style tent but the tent that might interest you is the Eurohike Rydal 500 . I hope this helps you.
Hi is the porch groundsheet fully sewn in?
The porch on this tent is part fixed in closest to the internal door and the other areas can be attached to the rest of the tent once it has been pegged out. A generous space to in reflection to a small tent and perfect for storing muddy boots. Many Thanks.
What awning poles are recommending for this tent?
What would work best is some form of king pole we have two types that would both work for this awning please take a look at the Eurohike King Pole Set or the Vango Adjustable Steel King Poles. I have used the Vango set before and they offer a good range or adjustment. I hope this helps you.
Does this tent work well with the Eurohike adventure tarp? I was also unsure if the Tarp's guylines would block the side entrance?
Many thanks in advance.
Hi R H.
Yes the adventure tarp will work with this tent , you are also correct about the door being obstructed though. This would really come down to how your pitch is and how short you can make the line to the pegging point. You could open the line up fully and try and overshoot the door too or like I said make it as short as possible. I hope this helps.
