World Ocean Day 2019

World Ocean Day June 7th 2019

In order to raise awareness on how humans are negatively impacting on our oceans, we have been taking a look at some of the facts on plastic waste pollution.

World Ocean Day

These facts include over 100 million tonnes of plastic waste being dumped into the oceans each year. And now, because of this, the seas currents are dragging the waste inland. This is creating Ocen Gyers (huge masses of plastic waste all disposed of in one place), like desert islands created solely from plastic waste.

The figures are increasingly alarming and now is the time to act!

Emma can normally be found walking her dog around Lancashire searching for cake. Determined to see as much of the world as possible, Emma enjoys travelling to new regions especially to ski, sunbathe and soak up the culture. From Lisbon and Barcelona, to Australia and New Zealand, as long as there is some sort of cake on offer, Emma will be happy.

When she's not travelling the world, Emma enjoys walks on the hills, looking after her chickens and trying to be the next Andy Murray on the tennis court.
