New Season, New Kit - Our Autumn/Winter Favourites
With the summer months being as unpredictable as ever, we can only expect that autumn and winter will be the same. Our new range looks to provide unrivalled protection in all conditions. We’ve picked out a few of our favourite pieces and put them at the forefront:
The Montane Air Jacket - Coming Soon
Men's waterproof / RRP £220
Montane claim that the Men's Air Jacket is tough enough to take on the worst of the British weather, and the feature list is testament to that.
The Air Jacket uses PERTEX® Shield AP fabric, a technical waterproof layer with a 20,000mm hydrostatic head which is double what is required to be classed as waterproof, meaning it can deal with the toughest downpours.
Not only does the Air Jacket offer unrivalled waterproof performance, it does so in a super-lightweight package. Weighing approximately 350g, the Air Jacket provides the greatest protection, with none of the cumbersome bulk, making it an essential for all walking packs.
The North Face Trevail Hoodie - Coming Soon
Men's insulated jacket / RRP £200
Highly compressible and ultra-lightweight, The North Face Men’s Trevail Hooded Down Jacket uses specially selected 800-fill duck down insulation for all-round winter use.
Ideal for use as a mid-layer under a shell, or as an outer layer on those crisp frosty mornings, the Trevail helps to regulate temperature whilst providing ample insulation against arctic chills without adding any of the extra weight.
Two secure zipped hand pockets and an internal chest pocket provide ample space to secure essentials, and a media compatible design means you can still listen to your favourite tracks, no matter where you are.
What makes the Trevail Hoodie a must-have is the ability to stow the jacket in its own pocket. The compressible nature of the down filling means it packs down with ease, so if things start warming up, you can throw it back into your bag with ease.
Women's waterproof jacket / RRP £225
Developed for tough alpine conditions, the Mountain Equipment Women’s Rupal Jacket has become an iconic piece of mountaineering gear.
Offering exceptional protection against all adverse weather conditions, the Rupal is fitted with a highly reliable 3-layer GORE-TEX® lining, meaning this technical shell is windproof, waterproof, lightweight and breathable, with added cooling coming from the pit zip ventilation system for those high octane adventures.
With practical features including a helmet compatible hood, ample pocket space and pre-shaped sleeves, the Rupal is a jacket that can adapt to any environment.
Women's trousers / RRP £80
Exceptionally comfortable, performance walking trousers, the Mountain Equipment Women’s Chamois trousers are an ideal outfit choice for trekking and trail walking.
The Chamois Pants are constructed with Mountain Equipment’s very own EXOLITE 210 stretch fabric, a supple material that moves with the body, for unrivalled fit and comfort on the move. It’s the small details on the Chamois Pants that give them a leg up on the competition. They feature a microfleece lined waistband with integrated belt, as well as reinforced fabric in high wear areas.
Trousers can often be a more maligned part of an adventurer’s wardrobe, but once you give the Chamois Pants a try, you won’t look back.
Men's and women's hiking boots / RRP £160
Mammut have come bounding onto the scene this year with a heavy duty backpacking and alpine hiking shoe that boasts a super high tech and modern design. The Ayako meets the full spectrum of requirements for expeditions.
For hiking through snow and ice, a GORE-TEX® waterproof lining and an elastic GORE-TEX® tongue keeps the ankle and foot cool and dry. Over exposed rock faces and ascents over boulders a very grippy Vibram® Mulaz sole keeps you firmly grounded. Finally doubled, free-sliding heel straps protect the heel and provide support, backed by 3 zone lacing that effortlessly holds the foot in place. The Ayako takes comfortable hiking to a whole new level.
