Introducing | The 2017 Autumn/Winter Hiking Boots Collection

Rain? Snow? Muddy terrain? Since when have any of the elements ever stopped a Blacks customer exploring the great outdoors? They certainly won't with any of our new Autumn/Winter footwear. Naturally, all Blacks footwear boasts exceptional comfort and durabiltiy, but here are three that we can't recommend highly enough ahead of your next Autumnal hike...

1. Merrell Women's Moab 2 GORE-TEX® Shoe - £115

“The latest hiking technology combined with that same recognisable out-of-the-box comfort that made the 2006 Moab such an instant classic”

An iconic hiker re-defined for 2017, Merrell have upped their game. Immediately roomy, yet also offering a level of support that prevents the foot slipping, the Moab 2 combines the latest hiking technology with that same recognisable out-of-the-box comfort that made the 2006 Moab such an instant classic when it was first released. The addition of the Aegis antimicrobial-treated GORE-TEX® lining, which we think really means ‘very good at stopping water getting in’, is the most notable improvement. Streams, an unexpected shower or the morning dew that greets you after a long camp, the GORE-TEX® holds firm and keeps your feet feeling fresh all day.

2. The North Face Women's & Men's Hedgehog GORE-TEX® Boots - £120

“They’re engineered specifically for tough mountain adventures, with the Hedgehog’s midsole and heel particularly impressive”

Exclusive to Blacks, The North Face Women’s and Men’s Hedgehog Fastpack GORE-TEX® boots are serious hiking boots, designed for the most serious of trail-bashers. They’re engineered specifically for tough mountain adventures, with the Hedgehog’s midsole and heel particularly impressive. The boots support and stabilise the foot while leaving you feeling totally in control of your movement - ideal for super-tough pursuits and hikes. They’re up there with the comfiest trail boots you’ll probably ever wear, and they’re possible some of the driest too – the GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane proving a handy failsafe for the unpredictable British weather.

3. Mammut Men's Trovat Advanced GORE-TEX® Boot - £200

“If you prefer a more rugged approach to your footwear while adventuring in higher altitudes, these are probably for you"

A beast of a boot, the Mammut Trovat Advanced GORE-TEX® can stand up to pretty much anything, even the toughest of terrains. If you prefer a more rugged approach to your footwear while adventuring in higher altitudes, as opposed to, say, the more nimble approach of the *insert footwear* then these are probably for you. They don’t slack on comfort, thankfully. The all-leather design may require a little more maintenance than some synthetic alternatives, with a leather treatment cream recommended, but it’s a wise long-term investment. Comfort, sturdiness and waterproofness guaranteed. The Vibram MT Traction II sole is as technical as it sounds, and it works. The deepened tread adds extra grip on softer ground, while the 3-zone lacing system keeps the boot feeling snug and secure at all times.
