Blacks and The British Heart Foundation | CPR Training Day

In continuation of our support for the British Heart Foundation, we were visited at Blacks HQ by the one and only Hearty, and Andy who delivered the all-important training. 27 colleagues from all areas of the office were welcomed to learn all about life-saving CPR.

With over 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests annually in the UK, there is a clear demand for CPR training. The chance of survival drops by 10% for every minute without CPR and defibrillation, and in some cases, performing CPR can more than double the patient’s chances. The British Heart Foundation have trained over 5 million people across the UK since 2014, through their Nation of Lifesavers scheme.

Understandably, we were all keen to take part to learn how we can help.

Here's what we got up to:

Sophie has recently joined the team after working as a sales assistant in the Blacks Meadowhall store. She is an occasional walker and hoping to experience more of the outdoors after moving closer to the Peak District from her small village in Yorkshire.

She is more accustomed to camping and travelling with her local Senior Section unit, camping in places like Alton Towers and Marwell Zoo, and travelling to North America and Switzerland.

Sophie is a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady, space fanatic and likes going to the pub at the weekend like any normal person should.
