So far so good. Already familiar with the fenix series. This is an upgrade from the fenix 3 as the fenix 5 can take maps. The wrist hr is still no more accurate than any other device so the chest strap is still needed if you do specific zone training etc.

Amazing product. If you are keen on your outdoor sport and don't have the appetite for a GBP700 Fenix 6, go for the 5x...amazing looking, rugged and packed with features.

Brilliant purchase and a great item - I love it
I have owned mine for 4 months. I am not a multi sport fitness fanatic, I do relatively low key activity - leisure walking + more intense hiking.
I also own a Forerunner 630*, which I like a lot, particularly the touch screen.
I was a little hesitant to get a non-touch screen watch, but actually find the Fenix a lot more user friendly.
It has a great style, is a solid watch with interchangeable strap, making it suitable for all occasions.
One pitfall is that this is such a smart/heavy watch that, using it for more robust activities is risky/uncomfortable. I use my 630 for this. Recommended.

Fenix 5x perfect for my job.

I moved up from the Fitbit starter trackers, Garmin held my attention for the watchlike looks but the array of goodies under the bonnet. My last was the Instinct, good but not great then I took a punt on the Fenix 5x. Superb, I’ve had it/worn it a week, I’m still learning about it. I can’t find the built in coffee maker yet but I reckon it’ll be in there somewhere. Fantastic bit of kit
