Reviewed by tom grant - 14th Sep, 2020 Be aware Garmin has changed the rules for formats. Great device for starting out or if you want the specialist functions available. Very fast and accurate GPS Location. Sadly change in map storage format means all my existing maps won't transfer to BaseCamp. Also it won't talk to my Tracklogs Software unless I update my eTrex Venture - which can't do because Garmin has removed all relevant packages. Note: if it was possible to translate it then I would have to translate 5 years of mapping information map by map! Blacks have been very good in Delivery and Return.
Review via - 6th Feb, 2020 There are mobile apps which are less accurate but user-friendly and easy to use.
Review via - 15th Jul, 2019 Nice and basic navigation aid. Load your gpx onto it, let it locate the sattelites, display the route and off you go.
Review via - 14th Jul, 2019 Great wee bit of kit for finding your way back if out walking. Ok so it doesn’t have maps but then the maps version costs a whole lot more. This is perfect for what I want it for.
Review via - 4th Jul, 2019 Gps was not as expected I wanted it for geocaching put I needed to up grade to premium. Which I don’t need. This should be pointed out in information details
Reviewed by Matt King (Blacks Cardiff Bay) - 8th Apr, 2017Staff review A Geocaching Must Have... When I started Geocaching I didn't want to dive straight into buying a more expensive GPS system just in case it wasn't quite my cup of tea. However having been on a lot of walks around different areas of the UK I can safely say The etrex 10 is a brilliant GPS to start out with. It is no where near the cost of other GPS units available but doesn't lack any necessary features. It clearly shows you how to go from A to B, allows you to set way-points to identify those crucial pit stops, is extremely accurate and is very simple to use. I would highly recommend this to both walkers and Geocachers.
