Lightweight, high-speed hiking shoes enhanced with GORE-TEX® waterproof technology.
The demands of the trail are no match for the Merrell West Rim Hiking Shoes. In addition to the high-performance waterproof technology, a bellows tongue helps to keep sand, debris and puddle splashes from entering the shoe. Cushioning EVA foam is used in the midsole to provide comfort while supportive shock-absorbing pads dampen impacts on rough terrain.

Loving the shoes, very comfortable and gives lots of support for my feet / ankle lightweight making it easy to wear. Been using them for walking and cycling but nothing strenuous but ideal. Being waterproof makes them ideal for Scottish weather
As for the review below, "After 6 months they began letting in water..." Well, I'm sure a seasoned hiker would know that shoes have to be cleaned & re-proofed regularly to keep them in good condition?!!
As for me, these have been fantastic everyday shoes. I'm a hiker & have been for a long time, even with arthritic knees, feet, hips & fibro (I'm only in my 30s!) But, since developing achilles & peroneal tendinopathy as well, I've had to really switch up my everyday shoes. I have found these to be great, they're comfortable, offer good cushioning & support to the feet.
Bought these for my wife choosing Merrells as we thought they would be great quality and waterproof as we do a lot of hiking. After about 6 months they started letting in water and it appears the sole is coming away from the uppers. Very disappointing and not expected from such a brand. Won't be buying Merrells again after this and reading more online reviews.
Disappointed with these walking shoes. I thought they were comfortable but on the third time of wearing I got large blisters. The soles are very slippery when walking on a wet road. There is no ankle support and are low at the sides like a trainer. I realise they aren’t boots but my previous walking shoes supported the ankles. Unfortunately this is what happens when you buy online and have no shops locally to try before you buy.
I have been looking for some walking shoes for ages and settled on these, I often struggle to find shoes as I'm wider-fitting & in between shoe sizes.
These shoes are supportive on my arches and around my ankles, wider-fitting, lightweight and genuinely waterproof... tried & tested in rainy Irish weather!
They are currently a little hard-footed to walk in as newly bought, but they haven't rubbed on my ankles and I imagine they will soften over time.
