For the price it’s a great tent. Practical and does the job. Just about room for 1 with some space and some small crammed in space for personal belongings if not wanted to be kept in the porch due to being visible from outside because of the windows. That being said if there was some way to cover the windows internally in moments of privacy without having to go inside fully and draw the black out it would be even better. Held up so far against heavy wind and rain in the Lake District. Needed two people to erect tent but potentially could be done alone. Good mid range tent.
This is a great tent was easy to put up (faster if you have put it up once and got the pod connected to the outer layer). Was ideal for one + festival gear and the porch was great. The first tent I have bought with black out technology which was great to keep the light out but got really hot during the day. Pack a light sleeping bag if anything and get the vents open!
With ample for room for one plus storage if car camping or if backpacking for two with bergens the Cairns 2 DLX does give an easy to erect base for wild camping. Colour coded poles, hi vis guy lines, vestibule, night light hook, map pockets in bedroom and the bedroom reduces that summer morning light to allow longer lie ins! Be sure to deftly train the door flap to cover the zip to shed rain though! After a frosty night it simply shrugged off the moisture as it thawed, and coped with a light shower well enough the next day. Good ventilation with 3 vents and a strong all in one groundsheet. 5/5
Got this tent for £60 in the sale and to be honest that’s about all it’s worth so I’m happy enough with the purchase, the darkened room is ok 75% at a guess but it’s way better than the morning sun, it’s fiddly to put up on your own but not impossible in about 10-15 minutes, decent size porch area and it packs down fairly small. Plenty of room for a solo camper but 2 would be a stretch too far if you’re interested in having any comfort.
