I've used these as a hiking boot.
I found these were true to size and they do half sizes 9.5 for myself.
14 mile first walk, no issues, and good on from there.
very light for size and support offered.
they offer a high grip level on high peak type walks and through streams etc.
they seem to grip the sole of your foot as soon as you slid them on and have a positive footstep ie make you take that next step, i think from the angle of the sole of the shoe/boot does this?
very good for me.Michael
Purchased from Newbury Branch, where the staff were very helpful. They seem well made and very sturdy. I've walked about 12kms so far and they are very comfortable. They seem to run true to size, I usually take a 10 and the 10s fitted perfectly. For reference I also tried a size 10 Scarpa Mistral and they were very small.
Bought a pair in 2018 to replace a venerable pair of Berghaus' that had hiked up Austrian mountains, trudged through the snow in ski resorts and walked a million steps across New Zealand and Dartmoor. They look great, have loads of tread and are very comfortable. They have had a fairly easy life but the upper seams just do not last and no amount of superglue or Nikwax can fix them. Feet getting very wet now on fairly benign tracks. Back to Bergs.
