The Rab Men’s Microlight Gilet features 700 Fill Power down, arranged in a combination of micro and nano baffles to increase core warmth and reduce bulk. The Microlight is designed to insulate as a mid-layer in extreme environments but can be worn as an everyday gilet too. As well, its 30D Petex® Quantum Ripstop Nylon outer fabric features a DWR coating in case of light showers.
The down used in the Microlight is treated with Nikwax hydrophobic formula. Whereas untreated down loses its ability to insulate in damp conditions, hydrophobic down repels moisture and retains its ability to loft and insulate. Your gear dries fast and stays warm.

Excellent performance, fit and function. Buy one today!
Impressive kit
I've only had RAB jackets/gilets with primaloft before so looking forward to trying out this down version. There's a few feathers sticking through the lining but not an issue. It's light, not bulky, and a good fit. Seems to layer in well, so ticks all the boxes. Very pleased so far.
Not as good
This was to replace my original Rab vest ( exact same ) sizing different and quality didn’t seem as good when compared, I sent back for a refund so I will need keep my old one a bit longer until I find a match.

After trying on several other brands, the RAB stood out immediately as the perfect fit. It is lightweight, not bulky at all, and there is no restriction in the armpits as in other brands. It was immediately warm and cosy, and felt like an old friend joining me for the day.
I have worn it over just a T-shirt, and under a larger jacket, and in both cases it just sits there doing its job wonderfully. It keeps out a chilly breeze and wraps you up in toasty comfort without any feelings of limitation.
It is a really well made product, and the materials seem first class. Buy one, you’ll love it!
