Good value
Poor quality
After very little actual use the soles became detached on both boots almost at the same time.
Terrible quality considering the cost.
16 months old and soles already detaching from upper
I bought Berghaus as I believe it to produce reputable, durable, good quality products. From the start, I loved these boots - comfortable and lightweight compared to previous old 20yr old Scarpa leather boots.
However, 16 months of use and the bond between sole and upper has failed in multiple places on heel and sides.
So disappointed as the upper still looks in great condition but soles are almost flapping.
Boot tread shows significant wear - at least 75% of central and outer tread has been lost on foot pad where highest load occurs.
Take note - these boots are NOT durable. BUYER BEWARE.

I bought these boots...
I bought these boots to replace the same Berghaus Gortex boots I had been wearing for 10 years. I walked literally hundreds of miles in those boots and only recently the waterproofing was not repelling water, so I bought what looked to be the nearest equivalent today. If my new boots serve me as well as the old pair, then I look forward to another 10 years of happy walking.
Lasted less than a year, I would not recommend these boots
Seams split around toes in 10 months, 4 separate places.
Soles / grips worn away also
Didn't last
Very comforable to straight from the box but the Vibram on the heels is thin and wore through very quickly. Three of the eyelets on one boot nearest the toes have now pulled out. Very disappointing product.
Laces
As with all the previous Berghaus boots I have owned in the past these are great BUT could they please have the 'round' laces rather than the 'flat' ones. However this is only a very minor criticism and does not detract from how good they are.

Like other boots of this type these are not in my experience as waterproof as quality leather boots but are more than adequate for most trail walking. Very comfortable and supportive.
Grip issues
Good boot, very comfortable immediately but the grip is shocking!!! The slightest frost or damp conditions makes them lethal to wear!!!

I have found them ideal for my walking style.
Lightweight and sturdy, if looked after and regularly waterproofed will last for many miles .
