Utterly useless
Works but is a lot of effort
Nearly impossible to get a spark off of. While you try not to release so much gas that you empty the canister or explode you desperately try to get sparks big enough to light a gas burner without knocking it over. Not worth it.
I pop something like this in my walking pack as an emergency back up bit of kit. Survival kit is carried as an insurance policy - if all else fails you fall back on your simple survival kit. I tested this as I do all my survival kit and it failed miserably.
I got two or three sparks off the rod before it stopped producing any sparks at all. In the process the rods themselves came free from the housing.
Do not rely on this - don't even buy it it is worse than useless.
