This ultra-lightweight, high performance cycling jacket is a tribute to the legacy of the first ever GORE-TEX® jacket, produced in 1985. Building on those early innovations, the Men’s C5 Shakedry™ 1985 Viz Jacket utilises technology to repel water at the surface of the garment. This removes the need for a face fabric, prevents the chill of wetted-out clothing, and allows you to simply shake off the moisture that beads on the surface. Waterpoof, windproof and highly visible, the Shakedry™ 1985 Viz is designed for ultimate protection and continues the development of GORE excellence.

A great jacket but by no means perfect for bike-packing

the lowest weight and bulk rain jacket that claims to be highly breathable?
I sweated in it regardless of the weather
I rarely felt damp and tacky while wearing it. I only realised I was wet underneath when I removed the jacket and found my top(s) were damp
It is more breathable than my other mid-range hiking jackets
Neckline is too low and hem too high, so tops pop out from under the GORE jacket and get wet
Very water-proof, never wetted out (though high viz sleeves do wet out when dirty)
Good quality zip that does not snag
Rear pocket zip not double sided, but pocket can be used as stuff bag

Lightweight, packable, fully waterproof and we'll fitted for cycling.

Excellent quality Light and waterproof

Early days but it seems as good as the reviews say. No more boil in the bag as you get with other waterproofs, this seems to be the utopia of waterproof and breathable. Expensive but worth it.
