Broke first time using!
Disappointing
The light it gives out is good and it’s a nice design but the on / off / dimmer switch does not work, so we have to remove the batteries to turn it off. If I had paid full price I’d be sending the light back but for £5 in the sale I’m not going to quibble.
Not sure where the built in compass is?
Bought three all broke would not recommend
I know these are only a fiver however they might as well of been disposable. Bought used once second time they would not switch off, they take three large batteries

Doesn't click all way round so comes on and stays on, have to remove batteries to turn it off
Lighting is good but poor design
On the surface, these lanterns do an OK job taking into account the price. Things to watch out for though are the weight of the lantern once 3 x D batteries are inserted, so be very careful if securing them on the wall or ceiling of a tent. They will hurt if they fall and land on someone!
The batteries insert at the bottom, and I have found the screw-on lid doesn't screw on very easily once batteries are in place. It seems to alter the body shape ever so slightly and the lid slips off the screw grooves very easily.

the lantern I bought was broken (plastic was cracked and broken in at least 2 places) as I only received it the day before I was going away I didn’t have time to take it back.

Great little lamp ..I dropped it a few times and still works perfectly
Great for the Price
Picked up a couple of these in the sale and they seem great. They do take 3 x D batteries, so be mindful of that. But what's handy about them is they're dim-able from a soft glow to ultra bright.
Terrible quality. I guess that's what you get when you buy cheap.
Broke first outing. On/off/dimmer switch broke. Now only works via taking battery out.
