Environment and Initiatives
As their business is the outdoors, Berghaus make it their business to try and look after it.
Both local and global initiatives help ensure that Berghaus minimise their impact on the environment.
Wind turbines to generate power at their head office, 100% recycled and recycleable footwear boxes and their work with international suppliers to improve working conditions all contribute.
Berghaus also work with organisations who aim to make the world a better place and inspire us.
In the UK Berghaus work with great charities including The John Muir Trust and The Outward Bound Trust.
The John Muir Trust is one of the leading wild land conservation
organisations and Berghaus staff are never afraid to get their hands dirty, lending a hand to the John Muir Trust with conservation work whenever
they can.
As part of their long-term partnership with the Outward Bound Trust, Berghaus kit out all of the instructors with Berghaus gear, but work with them to develop new opportunities for young people.
Globally Berghaus work with Community Action Nepal which is a mountaineers’ charity that helps mountain people raise their standard of living. They regularly send vital kit for Sherpas and Porters in the Nepalese regions who often carry out treks with inadequate gear.
