Beneath their prickly exteriors, hedgehogs are actually pretty well cushioned - soft creatures. Which is exactly where the inspiration for the North Face Hedgehog 2 GTX XCR® derived from.
Similarly, the state-of-the-art walking shoes meld a protective spiked Vibram® rubber outsole to bite into every terrain imaginable with a breathable, cushioned footbed - and Poron® technology to keep you fresh no less.
Running through the centre is a feather light compression-moulded EVA midsole to keep you stable and grounded and in the heel? An X2-02™ air pod injection-moulded TPU shank plate. Now that's impressive.
An abrasion-resistant, element-shielding Gore-Tex® XCR® membrane coats the shoes meaning you stay bone dry even in torrential downpours. Thanks to their mesh upper, gusseted tongue and Northotic™ footbed, they're also supremely agile meaning you can leap, flex and roll into a ball with ease. Well, it's good enough for the hedgehogs.

Should you wish to return a product for any reason, you may do so by taking your purchase to your nearest store within 28 days of date of dispatch. Goods can be exchanged or refunded within 28 days of dispatch. Please note that stores cannot accept returns of TOG24 or Garmin items that have been purchased online. These items must be returned by post by following the instructions detailed on the dispatch note included in your packaging.
Alternatively, for your convenience, we are pleased to offer Collect+ as an easy way to return products to us. Collect+ has parcel drop off points in over 4,500 local stores, most are open early until late, 7 days a week so you can return items at a time and place that suits you. does everything it says on the box, buy them! I have wanted a pair for ages and last time I tried them they were too narrow. However, tried a pair for an xmas present and loved them as soon as they were on my feet. Look good (in my opinion!!), varied range of colours, very comfortable, waterproof, and hardy with excellent grip. I do a lot of dog walking, in many muddy fields and slopes and these shoes are fantastic for this. I will buy another pair as soon as I need a new pair!!! But will have to start saving now as they are expensive!! Recommend trying them on before buying as the sizing was a bit complicated when I went to buy them. Usually need a larger size than what you normally need.

You'd expect a company like this (North face not Blacks) to know what UK sizes are. I ordered my size (8) only to find my toes touching the top without a walking sock on. In fact my neighbour (size 7) tried them on with a thick sock and only just fitted her. Of course I can't comment further as they stop making them at a size 8 so could not opt for a larger size, hence had to be returned - Which leading to another issue, isn't it about time companies realise that tall women have bigger feet? we are not all 5'5 and we are growing - not seen any short teenagers in a while!
My rant over - they looked nice though, so if you're a smaller size, think they're a good buy :)

I was surprised to read from another reviewer that they wore these shoes every day.... I have had mine for less than a year and the front sole has peeled off. I superglued back on the first time it happened; but it didn't last long!! Very frustrating as I had wanted a pair of these for ages. (I wore them to walk my dog every day) Will not be buying another pair!

These shoes are brilliant - so good that I bought a pair for my mum's birthday. They are practical and suit many purposes. I love them for travel in hot and cold conditions because they are lightweight and very comfortable. Also wear them to walk to work in London and for runs in the park.

This is my second pair! The first ones I wore virtually every day. Dog walking, running, shopping, you name it these shoes can carry you from the hills to the pub and you still feel like you've got your slippers on! Even wore them at work!!
If shoes were like cars my first pair have been round the clock! was dubious at first about replacing my 'old faithfuls' but the minute I put my new ones on I knew I would be clocking up the miles with no worries. I had no blisters, rubbing or pinching. (has someone broken them in for me?)
Hard to find a not great comment: only criticism is pricing on line for 'girlie' colours!! since when was pink expensive? Love my olive green ones anyway!

A great shoe for everyday wear. Gortex shell is useful for walking in the wet. Light and breathable, I have used the shoe in both hot and cold conditions. Good for travel.

I bought these trainers specificially for walking. Did 3 long walks this weekend in the Peak District and the trainers were brilliant. Slightly stiff at first but I didn't get any blisters and I found them to be very comfortable and supportive after a while.
I would def recommend these shoes.
