At Blacks, we're passionate about the world of adventure, endurance and exploration. That's why we've teamed up with Education through Exploration (ETE), a not-for-profit organisation that informs, inspires and educates through the medium of exploration.
Through this partnership, we hope to bring you the world and its most remote landscapes, using stunning photographs, inspirational video footage, and gripping real-life adventure stories told by ETE explorers.
Alongside blogs, videos and photos, chief expedition leader Antony Jinman will be sharing his equipment recommendations and offering top tips for adventure travel. You'll also get the opportunity to share your own expedition experiences through our Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages.
Together, Blacks and ETE hope to inspire you on your own adventures - to provide the advice, guidance and insight you need to achieve your dreams.
Do just once what others say you can't do, and you will never pay attention to their limitations again. Captain James Cook
Over the coming week and months, we'll be updating the Blacks website with videos, photos and blogs from the very latest adventures of ETE explorers. Follow their progress across the baking Namibian Desert, through the dense Amazonian rainforest, on the unforgiving Atlantic Ocean, and across the merciless Arctic Tundra. Find out about their trials and tribulations as they brave all extremes to explore the unexplored, discover the undiscovered, and conquer the unconquered.
Difficulties are just things to overcome, after all. Ernest Shackleton
What is ETE?
Education Through Exploration was set up by seasoned explorer Antony Jinman to help revolutionise the way in which children and adults interact with the global environment and its eco-systems. Utilising state-of-the-art satellite technologies, ETE researchers and explorers are able to send back regular updates of their findings and experiences in the form of pictures, videos and detailed written accounts.
The objective is to provide a valuable distance learning tool where children and adults can discover the world around them. By seeing for themselves the impact of climate change on the environment, future generations may be able to make a real difference.
As one looks across the barren stretches of the pack, it is sometimes difficult to realise what teeming life exists immediately beneath its surface. Captain Robert Falcon Scott
