Description

The route was opened in 2002 and offers a varied and attractive route from Drymen to the Perthshire town of Pitlochry. From the Trossachs the Way crosses the Highland Boundary Fault, a geological line where the Highlands meets the Lowlands, with spectacular walks overlooking Lochs Lubnaig, Earn and Tay.

There are remote moorland sections where wildlife abounds, and panoramic views over Ben Vorlich, Ben Lawers and Schiehallion. Passing by the powerful Falls of Moness the way passes through attractive communities where overnight accommodation is readily available. This is countryside that Rob Roy MacGregor knew well and travelled frequently as he worked, lived and fought for the Jacobite cause. Depending on route choice the distance is between 127 km/79 miles and 148 km/92 miles.
